Hello friends! March has finally come to an end, and in all honesty, March felt so much longer than January, even though they have the same amount of days, haha. Anyways, term 1 of school has ended, so I may be spending my holidays reading, or studying. Depending on how much holiday homework my teachers dump on me. *cries internally*
Although March was pretty busy because of school and SACs, I managed to get in a good amount of reading, mostly due to audiobooks. I only listen in the mornings, before school because I’m not really doing anything else, so I’ll be paying attention to it more. I was able to read 14 books in March, and here are my ratings for them:
↣ Harry Potter & The Deathly Hallows by J. K. Rowling ★★✩✩✩ (actual rating: 2.5 stars)
↣ The Hazel Wood by Melissa Albert ★★★✩✩
↣ Percy Jackson: The Titan’s Curse by Rick Riordan ★★★✩✩ (3.5 stars)
↣ Unravel Me by Tahereh Mafi ★★★★✩
↣ A Monster Calls by Patrick Ness ★★★★✩
↣ With Malice by Eileen Cook ★★★✩✩
↣ The Knife Of Never Letting Go by Patrick Ness ★★★✩✩ (actual rating: 3.5 stars)
↣ Ignite Me by Tahereh Mafi ★★★★★
↣ Nowhere Boys by Elise McCredie ★★✩✩✩
↣ Carry On by Rainbow Rowell ★★★★✩
Yeah, March was a pretty meh month with reading. I haven’t found any new favourites, and I’m contemplating on whether I should unhaul all my unread books that I’m not interested in, because I don’t want to be stuck reading books I won’t enjoy.
There were so many amazing releases in March, but alas, I didn’t buy all of them, because I’m trying to contain my book buying. I did, however, purchase some books to cheer myself up when I was upset. I got Children of Blood and Bone by Tomi Adeyemi (which I am super excited for! Everyone’s been enjoying it, so hopefully I can read it soon.) I also bought the Australia movie tie-in edition of Simon VS The Homo Sapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli, because why not? I absolutely adore the book and movie and I kinda want to reread it again and watch in another million times.
I also bought Autoboyography by Christina Lauren, because Anisha, from Sprinkled Pages, recommended it to me and adored it. So I hope I’ll love it just as much! And I caved and got The Gentlemen’s Guide To Vice And Virtue by Mackenzie Lee, which I’ve heard such good things about.
I also went and saw Love, Simon last weekend and ADORED IT! It was my second time watching it and I definitely will be watching it again because I miss the characters and the movie already haha. I might watch it on the 29th, when it officially comes out in Australia, or during my school break.
How many books did you read in March? What was your favourite March read?
