Hi friends! After much deliberation, I’ve decided to participate in the Year Of The Asian Reading Challenge, hosted by the lovely CW from The Quiet Pond, Shealea from Shut Up, Shealea, Lily from Sprinkles of Dreams and Vicky from Vicky Who Reads. Essentially, the goal of the challenge is to read as many books by Asian authors as you can and since I have a bunch of Asian books I want to read, I thought it was fitting to join the challenge. For more information and to sign up, check out the host’s blogs (linked before) or their Twitter @YearOfTheAsian.
You can also earn badges depending on the amount of books you complete for this challenge (they’re adorable and are designed by the amazing artist, CW). I’m going to be starting with the Philippine Tarsier (1 to 10 books) but I want to aim to achieve the Giant Panda badge (31 to 40 books) by the end of the year. Fingers crossed I’ll be able to!
I’ll be tracking what books I’ve read for this challenge in this post, so come back each month to find out what books I’ve read. I’ll also link any reviews I do for them here 🙂
- American Panda by Gloria Chao
- The Poppy War by R. F. Kuang
Will you be participating in this challenge? Do you have any Asian reads you recommend to me? I hope you do join as #YARC2019 is a great way to support Asian authors!
