WRAPPING UP MARCH & APRIL | WRAP UP, HAUL & LIFE UPDATE

Hello my lovely friends! I’m here today to wrap up March and April, because I’ve been busy and didn’t get time to post my March wrap up, and I didn’t read much in April.

First off, I want to say that I’ve been absent again because I started my first year of university, and WOW I did not expect how difficult it would be. I’m still trying to settle in and had a couple of breakdowns on the way. But I’m okay now (I think) and am trying to get back into the bookish community. I have plans for a more nicer theme for my bookstagram, and I’m thinking of redesigning my blog, which may take a while. So yeah, that’s my quick-ish life update.

These past two months, I managed to read 15 books, all of which I mostly enjoyed. Here is the list of books I read and my ratings for them:

↣ The Last Time I Lied by Riley Sager ★★★✩✩

↣ Radio Silence by Alice Oseman ★★★★★

↣ The Weight Of Our Sky by Hanna Alkaf ★★★★★

↣ Gone By Midnight by Candice Fox ★★★✩✩

↣ Noragami 01 by Adachitoka ★★★✩✩

↣ City of Ghosts by Victoria Schwab ★★★★✩

↣ Check, Please! by Ngozi Ukazu ★★★★✩

↣ The Boy Who Steals Houses by C. G. Drews ★★★★✩

↣ The Sun Is Also A Star by Nicola Yoon ★★★✩✩

↣ Orange: The Complete Collection 2 by Ichigo Takano ★★★★★

↣ Everything I Never Told You by Celeste Ng ★★★✩✩ (actual rating: 2.5 stars)

↣ Cardcaptor Sakura Omnibus Book 1 by CLAMP ★★★★★

↣ Bloom by Kevin Panetta ★★★★✩

↣ Everything I Do By M. C. Frank ★★★★✩

↣ Dragon Pearl by Yoon Ha Lee ★★★★✩

↣ Summer Bird Blue by Akemi Dawn Bowman ★★★★★

I think my favourite reads of March is a tie between The Weight Of Our Sky and Radio Silence, both of which I highly recommend. And my favourite for April are Dragon Pearl and Summer Bird Blue.

Okay, so remember how I said I’d try to not buy books… well I hauled 6 books in March ahahha, 4 of which I bought, and I’m not at all upset because I was in an awful mood and felt isolated and lonely from everything, but buying books brought joy to me during that time period. I also bought 2 books in April.

I received The Boy Who Steals Houses from Hachette Australia for review (which is up so go check it out here). I went on a shopping trip with one of my friends and ended up buying three books, since there was a sale at my local bookstore. I ended up purchasing A Curse So Dark and Lonely, The Book Of M and Dear Evan Hansen. I’m excited for all three books! Following these purchases, the lovely B. Jeanne reached out to me and sent a copy of her book Kaerou for review, which sounds like an interesting read. Annnd I caved and bought Bloom, which looks absolutely gorgeous! Inside and out because I ended up reading it in the last few days of March aha.

I also caved and bought The Red Scrolls of Magic by Cassandra Clare because I love the Shadowhunters world (I really need to catch up though) and I adore Magnus and Alec so much, as well as The Gilded Wolves because I’ve been intrigued by it and I want to read it in May for Asian heritage month.

Overall, I’d say I had a pretty good reading month in March, despite breaking my book buying rules, I was happy and I think that’s what matters most haha (okay my tbr and shelves may not agree). April was not so good due to the stress. Does anyone have tips for destressing, as I’m struggling to maintain my stress levels and I keep having moments where I want to breakdown because of stress.

Let's talk

How was your April reading month? Were there any highlights? Did you have an exciting March/April or do anything fun? I kinda wish my life was more exciting ahah.
