MID-YEAR CHECK IN

Hello hello! I feel like I haven’t done a tag in so long, so here I am, doing this tag because it’s fitting. I can’t believe that half of the year has gone by. To be honest, I feel like it has been unproductive for me, and I want to make the most of the last few months of 2019.

Anyways, moving onto the tag (unsure who started this, but if you do know, let me know and I shall credit them):

Questions:

1. How many books have you read so far this year?

Surprisingly, I have read [68 books] this year! Half have been manga or graphic novels and for the most part, I adored the books I’ve read

2. What’s your favourite book so far this year?

I’ve read quite a few favourites, with these ones being possibly my top favourites. I’ve read quite a few amazing books these past few months so it’s hard to choose just one.

3. What’s the most disappointing book you’ve read this year?

air awakens cover

I really thought I was going to love this one but I couldn’t get into it. So I’ve unhauled it and I don’t think I’ll reach for it again since I’m not really interested in reading it anymore.

4. What genre have you read most this year?

It’s a close tie between Contemporary and Fantasy, but I’ve more Contemporary so far (30 vs 29)

5. Name a new favourite author that you’ve discovered this year

I loved these authors’ writing and will be reading more books from them in the future. I’m so excited for Jen Wang’s Stargazing, Natasha Ngan’s Girls of Storm and Shadow, and I want to read Alice Oseman’s other books too.

6. What’s the most surprisingly good book you’ve read so far this year?

Truly Devious Cover

I wasn’t sure if I would like this one because it was REALLY hyped, but I really enjoyed it. It was a little slow paced, but the story was good and I’m interested in the mystery. Looking forward to reading the next books.

7. What are your favourite and most anticipated 2019 releases?

I really enjoyed The Gilded Wolves and I Wish You All The Best and I’m looking forward to reading Red, White & Royal Blue. I also am looking forward to Spin The Dawn which releases early July.

8. What’s your next big priority for your reading?

Lady Midnight Cover

Next up on my tbr is starting and finishing The Dark Artifices because I am behind on Cassandra Clare’s books.

Anyways, that’s all I have. I know this was pretty much rapid-fire but I’ve found myself enjoying writing shorter posts as opposed to longer ones. Let me know what you think below.

  1. YES YES YES Truly Devious and The Vanishing Stair are both so surprisingly good and the mystery is so authentic! Read the next one too, it’s even better than the first. And I am going to start Summer Bird Blue soon, i’m so excited!
