Asian Lit Bingo TBR

Hey guys. I know what you’re thinking. Another bingo, Stephanie? Yes, another bingo haha. I am helping co-host this challenge with 16 other wonderful bloggers. Thank you to Shenwei from READING (AS)(I)AN (AM)ERICA for hosting this, and bringing us together. You can go and check out their master post here.

I decided to join this challenge, because I am Asian and it has come to my attention that I haven not read many books with Asian MCs so this challenge will definitely help me change that. I’ve also seen so many recommendations that I’ve added to my never-ending TBR on Goodreads ahaha.

#AsianLitBingo

The rules for this bingo are simple:

  1. Book must have an Asian main character (can be one of several main characters) and be by an Asian author to qualify. It does not have to be #ownvoices, but #ownvoices is strongly encouraged.
  2. Book can be a novel, short story collection, or comic book/graphic novel.
  3. Book must be read during May 1st through May 31st to qualify.
  4. Review link-up will close end of June 1st at midnight PDT. The extra margin is to give people the opportunity to write up a review for a book they might have finished late May 31st. We’ll follow the honor system assuming you didn’t read the book on June 1st.

They’ll also be prizes and Twitter chats on, check out the master post (listed above) for more information. Now without further ado, here is my TBR for this bingo. I’ve decided to do the middle row.

SFF WITH ASIAN MC: The Star-Touched Queen by Roshani Chokshi

HISTORICAL FICTION WITH ASIAN MC: The Sympathizer by Viet Thanh Nguyen

FREE SPACE: Written In The Stars by Aisha Saeed

RETELLING WITH ASIAN MC: The Wrath and The Dawn by Renee Ahdieh

CONTEMPORARY WITH ASIAN MC: P.S. I Still Love You by Jenny Han

I’m so excited to read these. I own most of these books and they also help with the DiversityBingo2017 that I’m also participating in. There were so many good choices that selecting my TBR was difficult.

And that’s a wrap. My TBR for the Asian Lit Bingo. I’m so grateful to be part of this challenge and hope that you will all join. Who’ll be attempting this bingo? What line are you going to go for?

  1. I’m doing it too! Unfortunately not too many of mine cross-over with the diversity bingo, but hey, ultimately I’m not reading them to fill out a bingo card but because I want to!

      1. I forgot to say it before haha, but thanks for participating! And I didn’t realise how many books with Asian MCs there were (it’s so sad that I’ve rarely been exposed to them)
